Laayyoo is another coffee that comes to us from the Gugi region of Ethiopia. The name itself comes from an indigenous tree found in the region that is used for both shade on the coffee plantations and its leaves used for fertilizer. The coffee was processed by Sookoo Coffee, which is run by Ture Waji. Sookoo has many programs that are meant to help and give back to the surrounding communities. Such programs include agricultural education for farmers, building schools and roads throughout the region, and implementing a woman first policy at their washing and processing stations.
This natural processed coffee has a bright and fruity finish that will really wake you and your taste buds up. The tasting notes are fresh berries, lime, and macadamia nut. The coffee was grown at an elevation between 2,100 and 2,350 m.a.s.l.
